Jury deliberations are underway in a lawsuit filed by North Texas homeowners who claim construction work on the LBJ Express Project damaged their homes.
Closing arguments in the first of hundreds of potential lawsuits were heard this morning at the George Allen Courts Building in Dallas. The case could be key, since what happens in court today could determine the fate of cases to come.
The case the jury will decide on today focuses on the Rodriguez family home. During the trial their lawyers said 635 roadwork caused their home to shift, leaving lots of cracks and some walls splitting open.
The LBJ Express construction project, which carved new express toll lanes into and under the highway, began in 2011 and ran through 2015.
